DUI Deaths Are An Epidemic Across The U.S.

Friday, March 26th, 2010

According to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), in 2008, an estimated 11,773 people died in drunk driving crashes involving a driver with an illegal BAC. These deaths make up 31.6% of the 37,261 total traffic fatalities in 2008.

This alarming statistic proves that while most of our focus is on illegal drugs, and the pain and destruction that they cause, we need to focus on something very legal, and very harmful; alcohol. Alcohol addiction is the number one substance abuse problem in our country and the only real way to handle it is to enroll in an effective drug rehab program.

Narconon Louisiana is a program that handles alcoholics as well as drug addicts. Boasting a 76% success rate for permanent recovery, Narconon Louisiana does not subscribe to the idea that addiction is a disease. Instead, clients work one on one with a trained counselor to figure out what problem drugs and alcohol are a solution for. Once that problem is isolated and handled, drugs and alcohol no longer become the answer to life.

National Holidays Encourage Drinking

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Holidays like St. Patrick’s Day, Fourth of July and Halloween have become national excuses to get very drunk. And in some cases, like Mardi Gras, cities have worked in an entire week to celebrate the festivities with alcohol and debauchery. However does this send the wrong message to our youth? Are we telling them that it’s okay to lose control and drink to the point of oblivion?

For people that are suffering from an alcohol addiction it is imperative to enroll in an effective drug and alcohol rehab before their addiction ends their lives. Often times alcohol will lead to other addictions like heroin, methamphetamine or cocaine addiction as well.

Additionally, studies show that drunk driving arrests and fatalities go up during these times of year. If you or anyone you know is suffering from an alcohol addiction please call Narconon Louisiana at 866-422-4650 for more information.
